In the past I have stated that if you’re in over your head, it doesn’t matter whether the glass is half full or half empty. On many occasions, I’ve also been quite adamant that the glass was half empty. This was principally because I had been drinking, so I knew it for a fact.
Well, many of you have complained that these aphorisms are somewhat negative and have urged me to put a positive spin on the glass and its contents.
First, let me say this about that: he or she who is in a half-empty glass over her or his head should not throw stones at people wearing glasses. Hell, throwing rocks at people even if they don’t wear glasses is grounds for a beatdown unless they can’t see it’s you throwing the stone at them because they need glasses. Well, it’s still grounds for the beatdown, you’ll just be less likely to get one.
That being said, submitted for your approval …
Recognize that it is impossible to be in over your head in your glass or anybody else’s because you are the water and you are the glass as much as you are your head or in your head. So just get out of your head, be the water and be the glass. Oh yeah, and stop trying to drink out of your glasses. You people think I’m loopy? Geez.
